Dutch Apple Pie

Dutch Apple Pie

If you can get apples from the tree directly yummy- the best.

Any apple will do. It does not need to be a granny, or pipen and a common delicious will do just fine!!!! I can assure there will nothing common about it!!

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons flour

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (cassia if possible)

3/4 cup raisins (optional)

5 cups peeled, chopped and cored apples


1-9 inch pie crust (even a ginger crust works great here)


1 cup flour

1/2 cup butter (unsalted)

1/2 cup sugar

Stir together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, raisins and apples.

Pour into a 9 inch pie shell. With pastry cutter, (or food processer, or fingers) mix together 1 cup flour, butter, and sugar till crumbly. Sprinkle over pie. Bake in a 400 degree F oven for 45 minutes.
